SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – State Senator Dale Fowler and the Southern Illinois Chambers of Commerce are thrilled to announce that Peoples National Bank has been named as the title sponsor for this year’s highly anticipated event.

As part of their generous sponsorship, Peoples National Bank has graciously donated $10,000 to support the Expo’s 2023 charity, the Veterans Equine Therapeutic Services (VETS) operated through the Specialized Equine Services at Giant City Stables. All proceeds from the expo, taking place on July 22 and 23 of this year, will benefit this well-known organization dedicated to providing therapeutic horseback riding for veterans with mental, physical, social, emotional, and cognitive disabilities.

The Southern Illinois Made Expo is an annual event created with the purpose of giving the amazing local business community of Southern Illinois a platform to connect with the community. The event showcases a wide range of vendors offering unique and locally-based products, services, and destinations. With Peoples National Bank’s support as the title sponsor, this year’s expo promises to be a great event, making a meaningful impact on the veterans served by Specialized Equine Services.

“We are honored to have Peoples National Bank as our title sponsor for the Southern Illinois Made Expo,” said Senator Fowler. “The commitment of Peoples National Bank to selflessly give back to the community while also supporting the purpose of this Expo is truly inspiring, and we are so grateful for their generous contribution. As the Expo gets nearer, we are so excited to continue to bring awareness to the important work being done by this veteran-focused organization.”

“On behalf of the Peoples National Bank team, I would like to say how thankful we are to have this opportunity to show our support for southern Illinois and the many businesses that call our region home. We are equally pleased to provide our continued support for all of the men and women that have served our great nation. We will never take their service, dedication, and sacrifice for granted. Please show your support for our local business owners and veterans by attending this year’s event.”

Specialized Equine Services at Giant City Stables is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children, adults, and veterans with mental, physical, social, emotional and cognitive disabilities through therapeutic horseback riding. The Stables operates the Veterans Equine Therapeutic Services (VETS), focused on serving local veterans and their therapeutic needs. The funds raised from the Southern Illinois Made Expo will directly support the existing program.

While the title sponsorship has been secured, the Southern Illinois Made Expo is still accepting sponsor contributors who wish to make a difference in the lives of local veterans. The Expo is also welcoming additional vendors to participate and showcase their products at the upcoming event.
