HARRISBURG – The Shawnee National Forest Supervisor has enacted temporary Closure Order 09-08-25-01 for public health and safety in the V-Plow timber harvest area. The order prohibits going into or being upon the restricted area pursuant to 36 CFR 261.53 (e).

The Restricted Area is in Township 11S, Range 5E, Sections 21 & 22 in Pope County. The closure will be in place through Sept. 30, 2025, unless rescinded earlier.

The Closure Order includes exemptions, pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e), specifically:

Persons approved by the District Ranger and escorted by designated Forest employees to view sale activities in a safe manner.
