MT. VERNON – The Mt. Vernon City Council unanimously approved seeking bids for the demolition of the Municipal West Building located at 200 Potomac Blvd. at Monday’s meeting.

City Manager Nathan McKenna says the building has been listed for sale, but there has been no substantial interest in it since moving out of the building almost two years ago.

Councilman Joe Gliosci asked McKenna if the city’s realtor has given any indication that it would be easier to sell the building now. McKenna responded.
