FRANKLIN COUNTY – One person was taken to an area hospital with injuries following an early Tuesday morning crash involving a semi hauling a trailer and a passenger vehicle on southbound I-57 at the Sesser exit.

According to Illinois State Police, the accident was reported at 5:15 a.m. The roadway was shut down and reopened at 7 a.m.
