MT. VERNON – Illinois has launched a new PaintCare recycling program providing residents with free and convenient options to recycle leftover paint, stain and varnish.

Mt. Vernon residents can drop off their leftover paint, stain and varnish in their original, labeled containers – up to five gallons – at RP Lumber and Sherwin Williams.

Both latex and oil-based products are accepted.
