MT. VERNON – A Woodlawn man is lodged in the Jefferson County Jail on a charge of Possession of Child Pornography.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, a criminal complaint alleging child pornography was reported to the sheriff’s office just before noon Thursday.
Sheriff’s detectives were notified and continued an investigation that led to contact with the primary suspect, 36-year-old Marcus W. Leyva. Authorities say evidence was collected during the investigation, resulting in Leyva’s arrest on the charge.
The investigation remains ongoing. Additional criminal charges could be filed.
