CARMI – Two men were taken into custody late Thursday night following a traffic stop at the intersection of Oak Street and Industrial Drive in Carmi.

Carmi Police arrested the driver, 28-year-old Blake A. Duvall of Carmi, on charges of Driving Under the Influence, Driving while License Suspended, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

A passenger in the vehicle, 24-year-old Jaden L. Weasel of Carmi, was also arrested after officers discovered an open container of alcohol on the rear floorboard. Police said Weasel, who was in the back seat, refused to identify himself to officers during the investigation.

Weasel was cited for Illegal Transportation of Alcohol by a Passenger and charged with Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer.

Duvall and Weasel were both released early Friday morning with a Notice to Appear.
