METROPOLIS – A man was arrested following a domestic disturbance at a Metropolis home Saturday.

According to Metropolis Police, officers responded to the home on Security Drive and learned that the victim was punched in the face and chest by 33-year-old Matthew L. Owens of Metropolis. Officers saw injuries consistent with the statements.

Owens was also found to be in violation of an Order of Protection that had been issued against one of the witnesses.

Owens was arrested for Domestic Battery and Violation of an Active Order of Protection. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
