MARION, IL —  Oasis Enterprises proudly celebrated the 18th Annual Black Diamond Scholarship Event on Saturday, recognizing graduating seniors from 45 high schools across Southern Illinois and continuing a long-standing investment in the region’s future.

Held for the first time inside the new ThrillHouse Event Center, located within The Oasis, the Re-Imagined Marion Mall, the event brought together students, families, educators, and community leaders for a morning centered on achievement, opportunity, and forward momentum.

Since its inception, the Black Diamond Scholarship Program has awarded more than $800,000 in scholarships to local students, an investment rooted in the belief that education strengthens not only individuals, but entire communities.

“This program has always been about more than scholarships,” said Black Diamond co-founder Rodney Cabaness. “It’s about supporting young people as they take their next steps and reinforcing our commitment to building a stronger Southern Illinois, right here at home.”

Scholarship recipients were honored during a program that highlighted both academic achievement and the broader impact of investing in the next generation of leaders, innovators, and difference-makers.

The event also marked a milestone moment for Black Diamond, as the newly unveiled ThrillHouse Event Center hosted its first scholarship ceremony, symbolizing the continued growth of The Oasis as a destination for community, connection, and celebration.

With recipients representing communities across the region, the event underscored the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting students from diverse backgrounds as they pursue higher education, skilled trades, and career pathways that will shape the future of Southern Illinois.

For Oasis Enterprises, the mission remains clear: invest in people, strengthen communities, and help the next generation chase what’s possible.
