METROPOLIS – The following information was released by the Metropolis Police Department on Monday, June 19, 2023.

June 12, 2023
A Metropolis officer stopped a silver Mitsubishi for speeding 46 in a posted 30 mph zone. A computer check on the driver, Baridques A. Reeves, 41, of Murfreesboro, TN, revealed that his driver’s license was suspended. Reeves was charged with Driving while License Suspended and Speeding. Reeves was released on bond.

Metropolis officers were called to a residence in the 400 block of W. 20th. Upon arrival, the complainant stated that Travis L. Miller, 39, of Metropolis was inside the residence and refused to leave. Miller had a no contact order issued against him. Miller stated he knew about the judge’s order but refused to leave. Miller was arrested and charged with violation of bail bond. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

June 13, 2023
Metropolis officers were called to a residence in the Spence Apartments for an intoxicated person who refused to leave. Upon arrival, officers met with the caller who stated that Cory MA Bullard, 31, of Metropolis was in the bedroom. Officers were aware that he was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for Theft. Officers arrested him for the warrant. Due to his extreme intoxication, he was taken to Massac Memorial Hospital to be cleared by medical staff before taken to the jail. Bullard was belligerent to the staff and officers. Upon being cleared, he was transported to the Massac County Detention Center where he refused to exit the squad car and had to be removed. He fought with the jail staff once inside the booking area. In addition to the warrant, he was charged with Resisting/Obstructing Arrest.

June 15, 2023
Darrell A McCoy, 60, homeless, was arrested in a residence in the 700 block of Broadway. McCoy had been previously trespassed from the property the day before by Metropolis officers at the request of the homeowner. McCoy was observed in the residence. He was charged with Criminal Trespass to Residence and was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

A Metropolis officer observed a white Hyundai proceeding on 8th near Pearl. The officer recognized the driver, Sherident J. Miller, 23, of Metropolis and knew from previous contacts that she did not have a valid driver’s license. A traffic stop was conducted and a computer check confirmed that she did not have a valid driver’s license. Miller was charged and released on bond.

June 16, 2023
Scott A. Smith, 38, of Metropolis was arrested in the 1100 block of Catherine Street. Smith was arrested for violation of an order of protection. Additional charges are pending upon further investigation.

June 18, 2023
Metropolis officers were called to E. 5th Street near Big Johns. Caller stated a subject was jumping in front of cars and making traffic stop. He was yelling and waving his arms. Officers then observed him walking down the middle of 5th street still waving his arms and yelling. A Metropolis sergeant tried blocking his path with his squad truck with emergency lights activated. When the sergeant attempting to get a hold of him, the subject identified as Latroy L. McIntosh, 40, of Metropolis broke free and started to flee on foot. A foot chase ensued towards the playground at Spence Apartments. McIntosh was taken into custody after a taser was deployed. but he continued to fight and resist. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. McIntosh was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The preceding information pertains to an arrest made by the Metropolis Police Department. This arrest was made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
